Tennis' new golden girl, Maria Sharapova, made a dazzling entrance at the traditional Wimbledon Ball, one day after taking home the top prize at the prestigious championship.

Maria, who triumphed 6-1, 6-4 over defending titleholder Serena Williams in the final on Saturday, arrived at the post-tournament celebration in a silky gold minidress and high heels, showing off those famously long legs.

With her sharp tennis skills and pin-up looks on and off court – and a Wimbledon Championship under her belt at age 17 – the statuesque blonde will surely have an avalanche of commercial and advertising deals coming her way. Experts say Maria, who already earns around more than £1 million through contracts with Nike and Prince rackets, could expect to make up to £20 million in the next year.

But, just as she shuns the beauty queen label, the tennis star says she doesn't get caught up in the promotional side of things. "To tell you the truth… I just want to keep my head cool," she said. "Because I'm not into it really, that business. I just go out, and I just play tennis."
