In the Mission Impossible movies, Tom Cruise proves his skills in everything from rock-climbing to motorbike racing. But the Tinseltown star had to sit back and take some pointers from a professional on Sunday night, when he joined David Beckham to watch a game of soccer.

The two stars were photographed sitting in the VIP box at Real Madrid's famous Santiago Bernabeu stadium. David was unable to play himself, because he is still recovering from a cracked rib, so he invited Tom to come along and see his team take on league rivals Getafe.

Victoria was also there, keeping warm under an orange poncho, while sons Romeo and Brooklyn were both sporting the team's jersey. And the family's A-list guest seemed to be taking a keen interest in the game, because he was asking David questions throughout the match.

In the end Real emerged victorious, thanks in part to a goal from fellow Englishman Michael Owen, who has recently joined the squad. But there are whispers the team's star player may soon be heading back to the UK: Chelsea boss Roman Abramovich is apparently hoping to sign Becks. According to press reports, the Russian billionaire has already made contact with Real Madrid to negotiate an £18-million transfer.
