The new year got off to a rocking start with celeb-studded celebrations in New York and Miami. Pop diva Mariah Carey had the crowd eating out of her hand with a sizzling performance in the Big Apple's Times Square, while Lindsay Lohan got the party started in South Beach by turning DJ for the night.
With her famous disregard for chilly temperatures, Mariah took to the stage in a barely-there Vegas-style costume. Life couldn't be sweeter for the 35-year-old star, who recently equalled Elvis' record for 17 no 1 hit singles in the US, and has also received a clutch of Grammy nominations.
In the sunshine state, Lindsay was equally at home providing the musical entertainment at an exclusive bash in Miami. The 19-year-old singer-actress will, no doubt, have delighted the cool contingent at the Prive club when she took to the turntable. A Little More Personal (Raw), the teen queen's follow-up to her platinum debut album, Speak, has gone down a treat with her young fans.
