Given her reputation as America's number one party girl, a quiet evening in was never likely to be Paris Hilton's first choice for ringing in the new year. And true to form the hotel heiress seemed intent on making it a night to remember when she and a throng of her glamorous friends raised the roof at a lavish bash in one of Las Vegas most exclusive nightspots.

The blonde bombshell, who was looking characteristically stunning in a sequinned black number with plunging neckline, set the dancefloor ablaze at Sin City's Tao nightclub as the midnight hour approached. With her current beau, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, at her side, Paris marked the beginning of 2006 by indulging her two favourite pastimes – romance and revelry.

Some fond memories weren't the only things she took home from the party, however, as the svelte 24-year-old was paid $100,000 to host the event. Afterwards she and her hunky boyfriend headed over to nearby Pure nightclub where her little sister Nicky was likewise overseeing a night of festive fun.
