As a self-confessed "dancing elephant", Ann Widdecombe never expected to last so long on on Strictly Come Dancing.

She didn't reckon that her hilarious partnership with suave Anton du Beke would entertain the public so much that viewers would save her week after week over more graceful contestants.

With bundles of enthusiasm and good humour, the 62-year-old retired politician captured the heart of the Saturday night audience, drowning out the voices of even the harshest critics.

As the former Tory MP hung up her dancing shoes we took a look back at her run on the show and the routines that made her a TV favourite.
