Fern Britton sparkles in 'Strictly' Christmas special

14 DECEMBER 2010

For those who simply can’t get enough Strictly there will be an extra present under the tree this year in the form of a Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special set to air on the big day itself.

With five new celebrity contestants strutting their stuff, the programme is bound to bring some festive cheer to fans who can't stop their feet from tapping.

Of the five contestants lined-up, the real show stopper just may be Fern Britton who not only shows off her dancing skills and flexibility, but also her fabulous new body.

The 53-year-old television presenter looks amazing in the sexy blue fringed number as she proudly displays her new figure she’s worked so hard to achieve.

Watching her dance will provide inspiration for those viewers who may have over overindulged over the festive season.

Just as inspiring is the performance by Business Secretary Vince Cable, who found his passion for ballroom dancing through his late wife Olympia, who passed away in 2001.

He credited ballroom dancing with helping him get through the pain of losing her saying, “I hope that by taking part in the show I can inspire others to get up and do something they have always wanted to have a go at.”

Also appearing is comedienne Ronni Ancona who - in her self-deprecating manner – joked that she definitely has something to prove, saying “It's a wonderful opportunity to finally have confirmed that I don't actually have two left feet... just two right ones.”

Not everybody is focused only on the dancing however, with 43-year-old Torchwood star John Barrowman admitting how thrilled he is with the costumes. “I can guarantee this: there will be sequins”, he quipped.

And at 83 years old, EastEnders star June Brown will have the honour of being the oldest contestant to dance on the hit show. In her señorita pose (below), she looks poised to show them all how it’s done.
