Chelsea and husband dash marriage rumours as they join famous faces at gala

10 FEBRUARY 2011 Putting to rest speculation about their marriage, Chelsea Clinton and husband Marc Mezvinsky appeared as united as ever this week.

The newlyweds - who tied the knot in a ceremony estimated to have cost £3m last July - were attending a New York gala to raise money for AIDS research.

Arms wrapped round each other, the duo seemed to be delivering the message that they're still going strong.

The rumours began following financier Marc’s decision to take a three-month career break.

He has been snowboarding in Wyoming – without Chelsea.

At Wednesday's event he supported his wife while she made a speech introducing her father Bill Clinton to a celebrity audience.

The former president was being honoured along with Elizabeth Taylor and Diane von Furstenberg for his exceptional contribution to the fight against AIDS.

With a long list of famous faces in attendance, this year’s gala – celebrating amfAR’s 25th year - included a special performance of That’s What Friends Are For by the original artists of the song Elton John, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, and Stevie Wonder.

Also acting as the unofficial kick off to New York Fashion Week, the black-tie affair welcomed catwalk legends Iman, Helena Christensen, and Karen Elson.
