Shakira and her football star love Gerard wander hand-in-hand round his home town

For months they have denied being romantically involved.

But an image of Shakira and Spanish football star Gerard Pique holding hands has revealed what is an open secret in Barcelona.

It's the city where he's from and for the time being the Colombian diva is also based there. 

In the picture, featured in HELLO! 's sister publication HOLA!, Shakira tenderly interlocks her fingers with Gerard's after an intimate dinner date.

The couple were repeatedly linked after her split back in January from Argentice fiancé of 11 years, Antonio de la Rua.

But rumours were fuelled when Gerard, 24, posted a picture on Twitter of his birthday party, looking happy as he posed alongside the singer, 34.

 

 

Since, Shakira has rented a spectacular restored convent in Barcelona, reportedly to be closer to the FC Barcelona star.

And the pair seem to be spending a lot of time together, having been spotted at El Prat Barcelona airport preparing to catch a private jet out of the city.

Their relationship seems to have boosted Gerard's profile. He's been recruited as the new face of fashion label Mango's menswear line.
