Maria Shriver takes solace in friends and family following revelations

The past few weeks have been trying for Maria Shriver as she comes to terms with the news of the child husband Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered outwith their marriage.

But the mother-of-four put on a brave face as she took a stroll along a beach in Malibu on Monday.

The 55-year-old was joined by her eldest daughter Katherine and a few of her closest friends.

Recent revelations that Arnold fathered a child over a decade ago with a household staff member have left the former respected journalist considering divorce.

While her mother is contemplating ending her 25 year marriage, Katherine seems more prepared to forgive the Terminator star.

The 21-year-old tweeted over the weekend: "Everything happens for a reason, the hard part is finding out what that reason is."

She added: "Holding grudges is bad for your health. Forgive and let go. It doesn't mean keep them around either."

"Sometimes we forgive people cause we want them back in our lives."
