Samantha Cameron joins Ibiza party set ahead of half-term holiday with family

30 MAY 2011

Samantha Cameron is by no means your typical Ibiza party-goer.

So ravers at the island's International Music Summit were shocked to spot the Prime Minister's wife in the crowd and letting her hair down on Friday.

After jetting out that morning with her baby daughter Florence, Samantha, 40, and friends joined 2,500 revellers at the open-air event, where DJs included dance music legend Pete Tong.

The mum-of-three shunned the VIP and backstage area at the rave – one of the world's top electronic music festivals – and stayed out until midnight.

Her attendance didn’t go unnoticed, with some of her fellow attendees tweeting their surprise.

"Just spotted Samatha Cameron. Funny to see her among lots of young ravers," one MrsDebbieC, wrote.

Samantha might not have got home until the early hours, but she still managed to look fresh-faced the following morning when she was joined by the rest of her family.

Having attended the G8 summit in France, her husband David jetted out on the 6am Easyjet flight from Stanstead with their two elder children, Arthur, five, and Nancy, seven, to join her for a half-term holiday.

The Camerons – who are renting a villa for five days – then headed out to indulge in some typical seaside activities together, including paddling in rock pools and a ride in a pedalo.

The couple also spent some time alone together wandering through the village of Santa Gertrudis.

Although husband and wife enjoyed a short Spanish break in April to celebrate Samantha's 40th, this is their first family holiday since their trip to Cornwall last year, during which their second daughter was born.
