Ice cool Pippa glides through single life

22 NOVEMBER 2011 She's been keeping a low profile of late. But it's not the Middleton manner to hide away for long.

So the Duchess of Cambridge's newly single sister Pippa flashed her brightest smile for the cameras at the opening of Somerset House's festive ice rink.

It's one of her first public appearances since the end of her relationship with dashing financier Alex Loudon.

HELLO! has learnt that in the wake of the split, she cancelled her attendance at a number of social events – including the Square Mile Masked Ball set to take place on Friday.

On Monday, however, she put on a brave face, supported by a girlfriend. 

And the 27-year-old party planner looked chic in winter white, whizzing round on skates, her long tresses flowing behind her.

Alex is said to have ended their romance because he found it difficult to deal with Pippa's rocketing profile following her star turn at the royal wedding.

This week, the bridesmaid dress that won her admirers around the world is on sale.

For £1,995 Philippa's followers can get their hands on a version of the Alexander McQueen design their heroine wore before a global audience at Westminster Abbey.
