Cancer survivor Sheryl Crow diagnosed with brain tumour

06 JUNE 2012

In 2006 she bravely battled breast cancer.

And sadly Sheryl Crow has had another health scare.

In a new interview, the award-winning singer revealed she has a benign brain tumour – but insists there's no cause for alarm.

"I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumour," Sheryl told the Las Vegas Review Journal.

"I haven’t really talked about it. In November I found out I have a brain tumour. But it’s benign so I don’t have to worry about it.

Since the news broke, the 50-year-old has taken to Facebook to reassure her fans.

"Please don’t worry about my 'brain tumour', it's a noncancerous growth," she wrote.

"I know some folks can have problems with this kind of thing, but I want to assure everyone I'm ok."

Her representative, Christine Wolff, has reiterated the star's positive message.

Stating that the 50-year-old star is "healthy and happy", she told E! News that Sheryl has "no symptoms and everything is fine".

"It was a random mention during the interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone."

Sheryl – the adoptive mother of two little boys, Wyatt Steven and Levi James – is currently on a nationwide tour.
