Back in daddy's arms: Tom reunites with his little girl

18 JULY 2012 Tom Cruise's joy was unmistakable as he carried his little girl in his arms.

The Top Gun actor was reunited with six-year-old Suri for the first time since his estranged wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce.

After his sci-fi movie Oblivion wrapped in California Tom jumped on a plane and flew to New York to see his daughter.

He was pictured taking the little girl – who was wearing an orange dress and red ballet pumps – into the Greenwich hotel.

Tom's sister Cass Mapother was also seen arriving bearing toys for the little girl.

The father-daughter reunion comes after Tom and Suri have been keeping in touch via phone and video chat.

According to TMZ, Tom and Katie had no contact whatsoever when he made a five-minute visit to her new apartment to collect his daughter.

Tom's lawyer spoke earlier this week about the star's plans to reunite with his daughter after one month apart.

"Tom loves Suri very, very much, as he does his other two children. Tom is a family man, and dedicated to his children. They are the centre of his world," said attorney Burt Fields.

The Mission Impossible actor swiftly reached a divorce settlement with Katie, who was given sole custody of the pair's daughter.

Tom was given substatial visitation rights, however.
