Kylie was speaking at the launch of
Holy Motors a big screen project in she returns to her acting roots.
The 44-year-old literally sparkled in a sequinned Dolce & Gabbana gown at the London premiere.
In the film, which also stars
Eva Mendes and Denis Lavant, Kylie plays an air hostess.
The pop princess, whose previous film credits include
Street Fighter and
Moulin Rouge said she worked hard to perfect her craft for the French sci-fi adventure.
She said: "It's good to be acting again. It terrifies me in a completely different way and I almost had to unlearn things that I just do naturally, as being 'Kylie'.
"So I think I had extra work to get rid of that and to be believable as this character."
After she worked her magic on the red carpet, Kylie's Spanish boyfriend
Andres Velencoso whisked her away for a romantic meal.
The couple dined at Scots restaurant in London, with Kylie changing into a simple but elegant black dress for their date.
