Bernie Nolan talks candidly about living with incurable cancer

For the first time Bernie Nolan and husband Steve Doneathy come together to talk about their emotional battle against the singer's incurable cancer. Just two years after Bernie was cleared of breast cancer, she was devastated to discover the disease had returned to her brain, lungs, liver and bones. Speaking in the latest issue of HELLO! Magazine, Bernie, 52, says how she feels 'a weight has been lifted' after getting the news of her cancer out in the open. She exclusively announces her plans to try a new miracle drug to beat the disease, while her 'rock' Steve opens up about how he is coping and breaking the upsetting news to their teenage daughter Erin.

Bernie, a Patron of Breakthrough Cancer, says: "There's no point dwelling on it, I've got to fight it, be positive and get on with it. I say a positive mantra to myself everyday." She adds: "There’s a new drug coming out in January called T-DM1 and that's supposed to be a revoluntionary." Talking for the first time Bernie's husband of 16-years Steve says: "I still get very angry. You do think 'why us?' But what can you get furious at? It's an anger that you don't know what to do with."

He adds: "I can have my own private thoughts when I'm alone and scared… Bernie is brilliant."
