David Beckham's sensational H&M underwear shoot with Guy Ritchie

06 FEBRUARY 2013

David Beckham set hearts aflutter when his new H&M underwear advert was released on the same day that he took part in a live Twitter chat with fans.

The advert sees the topless football star running through Los Angeles, wearing just a pair of boxer shorts. Madonna's ex-husband Guy Ritchie directed the advert, which had a cinematic feel.

"I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it," said the former LA Galaxy and Manchester United footballer.

Added Guy: "David makes the perfect leading man. For me this felt more than a campaign – it was like directing a short film."

Fans have certainly enjoyed watching the advert, which quickly became a hot Twitter topic. The footballer, whose wife Victoria is in New York for the city's fashion week, was also inundated with questions during his online question and answer session.

He was asked what his favourite pair of boots are. "That would have to be my current Adidas boots, they are pink, which I chose because of Harper," he replied.

Which of his hairstyles has he liked the most? "The shaved head because it was nice and easy," he said.

He also revealed that his favourite movie star is Tom Cruise and his favourite film is Ratatouile.

David is a whizz in the kitchen and was asked who his ideal dinner party guests would be. "Tricky one," he replied. "The Queen, Jack Nicholson and Muhammad Ali would be good."

The footballer, who recently moved back to Britain from Los Angeles, was also asked about his favourite city. "Good question," he said. "I love them all in different ways but London is my home so I'll go with that one." He recently signed a deal with football club Paris Saint-Germain, but will stay in a hotel when he is in the French city.

David, who has four children with his wife Victoria, was asked what was the most tricky question his children had asked him. “I think it would have to be the obvious one about the birds and the bees :)” he wrote.
