The couple that turned heads: Colin Firth and Livia Giuggioli, 2012. In spite of some outrageous public flirting between Colin and Meryl Streep as he gallantly rescued her escaped Jimmy Choo, Colin and wife Livia were our couple of the night

Memorable speech: Flamboyant Helena Bonham-Carter in 2011, who played Queen Elizabeth in The King's Speech, entertainingly thanked the royal family saying, "they've done wonders for my career"

The blockbuster: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid won eight BAFTAs in 1970

The record holder: Woody Allen has eight to his name

The gong: Gold-plated gramophone trophy

That dress: Jennifer Lopez’s revealing green Versace chiffon dress in 2000

The couple that turned heads: Not normally one for public displays of affection, Beyonce publicly declared her love for Jay-Z on stage in 2000

Memorable speech: Adele became very tearful as she picked up a Grammy for Rolling in the Deep in 2012

Record-holding group: U2 boast 22 awards

Record-holding artist: Georg Solti has 31 gongs

The gong: Gold-plated Art Deco style knight

That dress: Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 white, belted, floral Givenchy dress is often voted the best Oscar dress of all time

The couple that turned heads: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt - it was Angelina's right leg that got people talking but as ever they were picture-perfect on the red carpet

Memorable speech: Gywneth Paltrow’s 1999 acceptance speech for Shakespeare in Love saw her struggling to fight back the tears while thanking a very long list of people

The blockbuster: Ben Hur, Titanic, Lord of the Rings all hold 11 gongs each

The record holder: Walt Disney has 22 Oscars
