25 MARCH 2013

With a big smile and her hand gently resting on her tummy, Lucy-Jo Hudson showed off her burgeoning baby bump for the first time this week. The beaming actress, 29, made the most of the chance to display her little bump in a black, white and gold bodycon dress as she stepped out for the Once Upon A Smile ball in Manchester. She completed her glamorous maternity look with bold red lips and long earrings.

Keen to share the moment with her fans, Lucy-Jo posted a side-profile picture taken on the night on her Twitter page, writing, "Loved showing off my bump for the very 1st time".

The star and her actor husband, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the long-running soap, announced their baby news last month, following their 12-week scan.

"My wife Lucy-Jo Judson & I are very excited to announce that we are expecting our 1st child. We are both over the moon," Alan tweeted. While she didn't make an announcement herself, Lucy-Jo said she was "overwhelmed" by the messages of support.

"Awww you guys are so lovely! Like I'm not emotional enough, haha, thank you for your beautiful messages," she wrote. "Alan and I are so excited. I can't wait to be a mummy."

During a visit to a care home at the start of March, the Wild at Heart actress revealed she was suffering from morning sickness, saying she was looking forward to that stage of her pregnancy to pass.

Alan, 30, and Lucy-Jo met on the set of Coronation Street and started dating in 2005. Four years later they happily tied the knot.
