Pregnant Jennifer Love Hewitt announces her engagement

05 JUNE 2013

Just hours after announcing that she is pregnant with her first child, Jennifer Love Hewitt revealed that she is engaged to her co-star boyfriend Brian Hallisay.

The happy couple revealed their exciting news to Us Weekly shortly after confirming that they have a little one on the way.

In a joint statement released to the same publication hours before, the couple confirmed the baby news. "We're so thrilled and happy to start a family ," they said. Sources told the publication that Jennifer is about three months into her pregnancy.

Jennifer and Brian, both 34, have been dating for around 15 months. They reconnected on the set of Lifetime show The Client List after previously appearing together on NBC series Love Bites.

The brunette star has made no secret of her desire to have children. In 2010 interview with Us Weekly, she admitted, "I would love to have babies — one day. I am obsessed with babies!"

Jennifer was previously engaged to Scottish actor Ross McCall, who she began dating in 2005. They split up in 2008, and the actress went on to date her Ghost Whisperer co-star Jamie Kennedy from 2009 until 2010.

Called 'Love' by her friends, Jennifer said last year that her view of romance has changed as she had got older.

"I've always been a hopeless romantic," she told USA Today. "I've always had in my head in the rom-com — which I think is great quality . The problem is, rom-coms aren't real.

"I'm at a place where I could get married, I could not get married. Kids is not something I'll give up on, that's something I really want in my life, but I just sort of started shifting my mindset a little bit."
