'I'm proud of what we've achieved': Dannii Minogue leaves Project D

05 JULY 2013

Project D, the clothing label created by Dannii Minogue and Tabitha Somerset Webb, became a firm favourite among the fashion pack, with Kate Middleton, her sister Pippa and Princess Mary of Denmark just some of the famous faces spotted in their dresses. But now Dannii has revealed she is walking away from the brand.

The Australian beauty told the Mail that she will no longer be associated with the label, but said she was "proud" of what had been achieved.

Dannii said in a statement, "In March 2010, I teamed up with Tabitha Somerset Webb to launch the fashion label Project D. Over the past three years we have launched a clothing line, a fragrance and a watch collection. I have now decided to step down from the brand and will no longer be associated with Project D London moving forward.

"I have loved being part of PDL and am proud of what we have achieved. I wish Tabitha all the best with her business and would like to thank every person who supported us in this project.

"I am currently enjoying being part of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model, and am looking forward to The Australian X Factor starting soon."

In May it was revealed that Project D was set to cease trading, but it was thought that Dannii had plans for the label's future.

As well as her numerous working commitments, busy Dannii is also a devoted mum to her son Ethan. She split from the two-year-old's father Kris Smith in April 2012, but recently said they make it work.

Speaking to the Sun about being a single mum, Dannii said, "I've got friends who planned that and they love it. But I wouldn't have ever done it. I'm still waiting for Ethan to say, 'Dad let's me do it', about something.

"My neighbour is a single mum with a 14-year-old. He's so well-adjusted and polite. He even said to me, 'Don't worry, you'll be fine.' And it is fine.

"There's a sadness but I don't worry about being a single mum because I known I'm very capable. Ethan's got grandparents in the UK and in Australia so it's cool.

"Kris is a good dad with him — that's all you can strive for, to be good parents."
