Danny O'Donoghue confirms he will quit 'The Voice'

Danny O'Donoghue has confirmed that he will not be returning to The Voice for the show's next series.The Script frontman is leaving the TV singing contest, where he has been a coach for two years, to concentrate on his music. "I had two wonderful seasons on The Voice and as everybody knows I gave it my heart and soul and couldn't be more proud of the show and what we have achieved," Danny wrote on his Twitter account.

"My focus will be on The Script moving forward as we are about to embark on the most important part of our career as a band. "In the 2013 season of the show, he mentored his act Andrea Begley to win the competition. The partially blind singer from Northern Ireland beat out favourite Leah McFall to win the recording contract prize.Andrea tweeted: "@TheScript_Danny was such a great coach on The Voice, it was incredible to work with him. I wish him and the band the best luck in the future!"In the first season of The Voice, Danny mentored runner-up Bo Bruce. There were reports that the pair were romantically involved, but Danny claimed that they were only working together. "For me I was more impressed by her story," said Danny, referring to Bo's mother's death shortly after the series finished. "About how she can overcome tragedy. It's such a powerful message." Mark Linsey, the BBC's controller of entertainment commissioning, said: "The Voice coaches are all current music stars with recording and touring careers to manage alongside the show and we know this can be difficult to juggle.

"We are very sorry to see Danny go but wish him and the band the very best and hope they will come back and perform for us next series. "Danny's fellow coach Jessie J has also announced that she is leaving The Voice to concentrate on promoting her new album.The Price Tag singer released a statement via her Twitter account at the beginning of July 2013 to say that she would not be returning to the BBC show.She wrote: "I've absolutely loved my time on The Voice, and I hope everyone saw and knows how passionately I felt about the show. "I can't wait to promote my new record around the world and that has to take priority. I shall be keeping a very close eye on series three, showing my support in every way I can, and really hope that in some way that I can be part of the show. "It remains to be seen whether other coaches will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones will remain for the third season of the show. Rapper and producer will.i.am recently revealed he would quit if just one of the original four panel members were to leave.
