Lindsay Lohan has some powerful people on her side as she embarks on life post-rehab.

Following Oprah Winfrey 's offer of "advice and counsel", it has been revealed that Ben Affleck paid Lindsay a visit during her recent stay at Cliffside Malibu Rehab Center.

According to TMZ, the Oscar-winning actor-director sat down with the troubled starlet to offer advice on how she can maintain her sobriety in Hollywood and revive her career.

Ben also reportedly told Lindsay how "supportive" the entertainment community can be for those people who "make a real effort" to stay clean.Contrary to rumours however, the pair did not discuss Ben's latest film, Live By Night, which Lindsay had reportedly been cast in. "It's not true," a source close to the film told US Magazine. "First off, no one has been cast. (Lindsay) will not be cast in any role in the movie. She is not being considered for any role in the movie. She won't be in the movie."

Certainly Lindsay will need support as she embarks on this next chapter of her life. Following her candid interview with Oprah, which will air on 18 August, Lindsay was offered "advice and counsel" by the media mogul, who has publicly shared her hopes that The Canyons actress will stay on the right path. "I thought that she's in the best place that I've ever seen her," Oprah said on Good Morning America earlier this month. "I believe that she believes that she is now ready. And she admitted that there were other times when she was pretending to be ready and not quite sure. And sometimes resentful that she was being, you know, put in a position where she had to go to rehab. I think this was the first time I could see it really benefitted her."
