Emma Watson found fame at a young age with the Harry Potter series but the British actress has said she is envious of actresses who can emerge without a past.

“There are all these actresses who have emerged in the last year or two, and they get to emerge as this complete human being. And I'm so jealous!” said the 23-year-old.

Hollywood favourites Jennifer Lawrence and Shailene Woodley are perfect examples of actresses who have become popular over the last few years - however both have gone on to star in teen franchises just like Emma.In 1999, Emma was cast at the age of nine as Hermione Granger in the big screen adaptation of J K Rowling’s Harry Potter series along with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint

She starred in all eight films over 12 years, and more recently in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring which premiered at Cannes Film Festival.

Emma also talks about growing up on camera, adding that she didn't want the important childhood moments to happen at work"I remember reading this thing that Elizabeth Taylor wrote. She had her first kiss in character. On a movie set. It really struck me. I don't know how or why, but I had this sense that if I wasn't really careful, that could be me," she said. She went on:  "That my first kiss could be in somebody else's clothes. And my experiences could all belong to someone else."
