The singer will be performing at the awards live on national television this Sunday, and TMZ have reported that the lyrics are a plea from Robin who is desperate to reunite with Paula. "All I wanna do is make it right/ I gotta get her, go get her back / I gotta treat her right / I gotta cherish her for lifeI should've kissed you longer / I should've held you stronger / And I'll wait for forever for you. "Appealing to the world in an effort to soften her up, the singer has already made several public pleas for reconcilations, including addressing the split at a gig where he told the crowd: "She's a good woman."

The couple met as teenagers and married in 2005. They decided to separate earlier in 2014 and in a statement said: "We will always love each other and be best friends. However, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."

The 36-year-old singer and Paula, 37, have a son together, Julian, who was born in April 2010. In recent months the pair have weathered a lot together including reports of Robin's infidelity and controversy over his raunchy performance of Blurred Lines at the VMAs with Miley Cyrus.

"I don't know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn't for Paula," the singer told Prestige Hong King Magazine last September. "She's been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way."

Speaking in the same interview, his wife added, "I've been there for his down moments and he's been there for mine.
