Jim Parsons sent Twitter into a frenzy when he was spotted sitting court side at Wimbledon. The 41-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, was cheering on Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard in her match against France's Alize Cornet. Taking his seat in the royal box, Jim looked cool as a cucumber in his black shades and immactulate navy suit.

The small-screen star and tennis fan looked to be enjoying the game Centre Court as he sat alongside his partner Todd Spiewak and cheered his new friend Eugenie onto victory. Earlier on in the tournament on Thursday, Jim and Eugenie met after a year of back and forth contact through their agents, according to Sportsnet. The stars looked thrilled to finally make each other's acquaintance. "My most positive supporter :) #JimParsons," wrote Eugenie alongside a selfie of the pair, followed by another sweet snap of the duo.

" It's my favourite show," the 20-year-old tennis ace said of Jim's hit show. "His character is my favourite character. So it's amazing that he's a fan of me 'cause I'm like the biggest fan of him. "He's e-mailed me after every single match I've played. He's more positive than all of my team combined. So it's a refreshing change to get a nice e-mail with exclamation marks and smiley faces."
