Blake Lively on starting a 'litter of kids' with Ryan Reynolds

13 AUGUST 2014

Blake Lively has revealed that she would like to start a family with her husband of two years Ryan Reynolds.

"If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would," said Blake, speaking to Marie Claire about her home life and her new e-commerce website Preserve.

The Gossip Girl star was echoing previous sentiments, having said in the past that she would love to have 30 children if she could.

Blake, who was born in Los Angeles, has four older siblings/half siblings, while her husband Ryan is the youngest of four brothers – so it comes as no surprise that they both want to have a big brood.

"Family is at the heart of everything in my life, of everything I do," said Blake.

The 26-year-old actress added that the secret to her happy marriage was that she and Ryan, 37, have never gone a week without seeing each other.

"The best part is when we turn off our phones and just talk and hang out," said Blake. "He's my best, best friend. What do you do with your best friend? You do nothing."

The private couple, who often shy away from the limelight, live in Bedford, New York in the home they bought together in June 2012 – just three months before tying the knot. Blake and Ryan married in a top-secret ceremony in South Carolina, where the actress' good friend Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine performed at the wedding.

While the blonde stunner took a hiatus from Hollywood shortly after becoming Mrs Reynolds, Blake is set to star as the lead role in The Age of Adaline, due for release next year.

In the meantime, she has been focusing on her new lifestyle website Preserve, which comprises e-commerce, philanthropic endeavour and lifestyle sections.

"There's so much life teeming out of every pocket of this nation," wrote Blake. "There are people creating magic with their bare hands. Creating things which land at that amazing intersection between art and function.

"I've found that when approached with a curious spirit, people are kind, they're generous, they answer, if asked. They'll often open their doors and hearts and let you in. Because people with wisdom have stories to tell, and want them heard."
