Rita Ora celebrates turning 24

Happy birthday, Rita Ora! As the singer-songwriter and actress celebrates turning 24, HELLO! Online takes a look at what the stars have in store for Rita, and you...

This is what Rita, who is a Sagittarius, can be expecting today: When people are reluctant to discuss 'an elephant in the room', we must wonder why. Might it simply be because if it were acknowledged, it would lead to questions like, how did that elephant get into the room in the first place? How did it pass through the door? And if it came in long ago, as a tiny baby elephant, and has been growing ever since, how can anyone ever hope to get it back out again? Or perhaps the room has a very large pair of French windows. The solution to a problem may not be as obtuse as you fear.

Rita Ora has emerged as one of pop music's brightest new stars

Born in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, Rita moved to the United Kingdom when she was a year old and began singing at an early age, regularly performing in open mic-nights at her father’s pub in West London

The 24-year-old first rose to fame when DJ Fresh, who at that time was looking for a female vocalist for his song, Hot Right Now, discovered her covers and videos about working on her debut album on YouTube. She then featured on his track that was released on 12 February 2012 and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. Since then, the singer's career has gone from strength to strength. Later that year she became the artist with the most number ones in the UK Singles Chart after three consecutive songs reached the top position, was nominated for three awards at the 2013 BRIT Award, and saw her first single from her second album debut at number one in 2014, making it the fourth time she had topped the charts.

The singer is also carving out an acting career - she's due to appear in 50 Shades of Grey

Rita has recently began making waves on the acting scene, appearing as a driver in blockbuster hit Fast & Furious 6. She will also star alongside Jamie Dorman and Dakota Johnson in the eagerly anticipated film adaptation of the best-selling novel Fifty Shades of Grey. After appearing as a guest judge on The X Factor, Rita will appear as the fourth coach on the upcoming fourth series of The Voice, replacing Kylie Minogue. The blonde beauty has been romantically linked to Bruno Mars and dated Calvin Harris for a year until they ended their relationship in June 2014.
