Perez Hilton has become a father for the second time. The celebrity blogger shared the news on his website, saying that he and his two-year-old son Mario are "overjoyed".

The 37-year-old – real name Mario Lavandeira – shared a sweet snap of himself cradling the newborn baby's tiny foot, writing: "It is with great pride and relief that I can finally announce: I am a dad again!

"The road to this birth has been a difficult journey, quite different from the first time, and my son and I are overjoyed at this happy and healthy addition to our family."

Perez added: "Every child is a blessing and this Mother's Day was extra blessed for me and my mother!"

The writer also shared the picture to his Instagram account, however he has not yet revealed the baby's gender or name.

Perez welcomed his first child Mario via surrogate in 2013. The proud dad often shares photos of the two-year-old on his Instagram account, telling fans: "Family is everything to me! This is what I dreamed of and live for!"

The blogger previously credited becoming a father for changing his approach to work, and said he had toned down his nastiness as he seeks "good energy" for his son.

Speaking to the LA Times, he said: "I don't have to give people nasty nicknames anymore. I don't have to say people are stupid, or people are fat, or people are ugly. I don't need to draw inappropriate things on photos or 'out' people. I can still be sassy and fun and do my job."

Perez appeared to fall short on his word during his time on Celebrity Big Brother in January, where he became known for his controversial behaviour. However his sister Barbara told Closer magazine that Perez was acting out of character because he missed his little boy.

She said: "The biggest factor affecting Perez's behaviour is that this is the longest he's been away from his son – he'll have missed Mario so much."
