Ed Sheeran hits the stage with his 'ladz' The Rolling Stones

Ed Sheeran and The Rolling Stones took the stage by storm when they performed a duet to thousands of fans over the weekend. The two musical acts teamed up to deliver a rocking rendition of Beast of Burden at The Rolling Stones' concert in Kansas City.

The band's official Twitter account had announced that they would be bringing on their special guest earlier that evening, with Mick Jagger writing that he was looking forward to meeting the Don't chart-topper.

Ed seemed equally thrilled to join the "ladz" on stage and looked completely in his element, strumming away on his guitar and jamming with the multiple-platinum group.

The 24-year-old didn't miss the opportunity to take a selfie with the band, which he later posted on Instagram. "Just sung a song on stage with these ladz," wrote Ed.

He then followed it up with another snap of himself and guitarist Keith Richards, and captioned it: "Learning how to be led astray."

Ed is currently in the middle of his x world tour, but will be back in his native UK to perform at London's Wembley Stadium next month. The Rolling Stones, meanwhile, are on the road for their Zip Code tour of the US and Canada.

Earlier this week Ed sparked rumours that he was considering a collaboration with Selena Gomez, when a source told Hollywood Life: "Ed and Selena have been hanging out a lot together, but there's nothing going on there. They just want to get to know each other better because they're considering working with one another."

The subject matter of the song would certainly not involve Selena's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, however.

"Ed would love to write for Selena," the source added. "He thinks she's super-talented, has a great voice and the right appeal to front one of his songs. Ed doesn't want to start anything with Justin Bieber and write a song for Selena about him. He feels she should concentrate on something else."

The Thinking Out Loud singer and the American beauty were seen hanging out at a Hollywood party on Friday night, followed by a stop at 7-Eleven for some snacks.
