Johnny Depp has broken his silence three days after his wife, Amber Heard, filed for divorce. "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life," a representative for the Hollywood star said in a statement. "Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly. "Johnny and Amber had only been married for 15 months when she filed for divorce in LA on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences. The actress requested spousal support in her petition – but just a few hours later, Johnny responded via his lawyer Laura Wasser, asking the judge to reject Amber's claim.

The two stars met while filming the 2011 movie The Rum Diary, and started dated following Johnny's split from his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has daughter Lily-Rose and son Jack. They were married in February 2015 in an intimate ceremony on Johnny's private island in the Bahamas.According to People, however, Amber expressed hesitation about settling down with the star, 22 years her senior, at their engagement party in March 2014."Before Amber met Johnny she was just a regular super cool hipster chick living with roommates who dated girls," a source said. "At their engagement party she kind of got cold feet... she was just like what is this scene and what am I doing here? She kind of couldn't believe it was her life now."
