Hilary Swank is no longer engaged to her tennis coach fiancé Ruben Torres. The actress was pictured not wearing her diamond ring at the French Open over the weekend, prompting split rumours to surface.

A representative for the Million Dollar Baby star confirmed to People that the engagement is off.

Hilary, 41, has also deleted her social media posts on Twitter and Instagram announcing her engagement.

Hilary Swank announced her engagement to Ruben Torres in March

Back in March the actress posted a selfie with Ruben, revealing that the pair had gone on a hike when he decided to pop the question.

She wrote: "Went on a hike and this happened! I am so happy to share with you all this exciting and incredible news... the engagement to my dear Ruben!!!"

Hilary hasn't commented about the news on social media, but on Monday she posted a "Monday mantra" quote that read: "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."

She also made no reference to her missing ring, instead choosing to share a happy selfie from the French Open. "What a match!! #FrenchOpen #ILOVETennis #WhatASunday #Paris Ok, now back to work!" she wrote.

The Oscar winner and Colombia-born Ruben started dating in the summer of 2015. They made their first red-carpet appearance in December.

Ruben played tennis at the University of Southern California before going pro. Now retired from the sport, he coaches tennis and also works as a financial adviser for UBS in Los Angeles.

The pair dated for just under a year

Passion for the game is something that Hilary and Ruben both share. The actress often uploads Instagram photos and videos of herself playing tennis, and she is a regular fixture at international tournaments.

Hilary was previously married to Chad Lowe for ten years. The pair tied the knot in 1997 but divorced ten years later.

When Hilary won her first Best Actress Academy Award in 2000 for Boys Don't Cry, she famously forgot to thank her husband in her acceptance speech. However, she remembered to thank him when won the award again in 2005. The following year the pair separated and their divorce was finalised in November 2007.
