Lea Michele leads tributes to Cory Monteith on anniversary of his death

Lea Michele has paid tribute to her late boyfriend Cory Monteith in honour of the third anniversary of his death. "We may not have gotten to share a lifetime together… but the memories… they're the best of my life… Love you Cory," the 29-year-old wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of the late star.

She also took to Twitter to remember the Glee actor: "I know you're watching over me, and smiling. Love and miss you Cory, everyday, but today a little more."

A host of Cory's former co-stars, including Matthew Morrison, Naya Rivera and Jenna Ushkowitz, took to social media to honour the 31-year-old – as did Glee fans around the world, who used the hashtag #3YearsWithoutCory to show their support.

"The minutes become days, and the days become years… but you always remain so close. I miss you, brother," wrote Matthew, while Naya tweeted: "Always missed and never forgotten. #3YearsWithoutCory."

The actress shared a touching message on Twitter

Chord Overstreet shared a photo of himself with Cory, which he captioned: "There's no one quite like you. The greatest guy. The biggest heart. I love you man!" Jenna Ushkowitz wrote: "The time may pass but the warmth of your generous soul and the humility in your goofball nature will never fade. You are and always will be our quarterback. We miss you friend. #3yearswithoutcory."

Cory passed away in July 2013 from a drug overdose. Michele – who was dating Cory at the time – was devastated by his death, and has marked the date every year with a photo and a touching message.

Matthew Morrison also remembered his late co-star on social media

Last year she shared a photo of Cory driving, which she captioned: "Today we remember the laughter and joy you brought into our lives every day. We think of you always and love you so."

In April, the Scream Queen star got a tiny number '5' tattooed on the side of her ribcage in honour of Cory's Glee character Finn, whose football jersey number was 5.
