Inside Beyoncé's funky star-studded birthday bash

Share this:

Beyoncé was the ultimate disco diva as she rang in her 35th birthday in style, celebrating with a Soul Train-themed bash. The pop star invited her famous friends and family members to wear their best fancy dress costumes and boogie on down to some seventies classics.

Beyoncé was joined by her rapper husband Jay Z and the couple's four-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.

While the Crazy in Love singer flaunted her curves in a one-legged sequined jumpsuit, Jay Z was unrecognisable in a wig and bandana.

Videos of the couple have surfaced online, showing Beyoncé and Jay Z hitting the dancefloor. When it was time for the doting mum to give a speech, her daughter Blue Ivy, who rocked a seventies outfit too, sneakily picked some icing off the cake.

"Happy birthday mummy!" she crooned over the microphone.

"Thank you, everybody, for coming. You guys did such an incredible job committing, and I'm so happy to be here," said Beyoncé. "Thank you, baby," she added to Jay Z.

Ahead of the party Beyoncé took to Instagram to thank her fans for their best wishes. "I just want to say thank you to everyone for all the beautiful and thoughtful birthday wishes," she wrote.

"I am so fortunate to have the love and support of my family, my friends, and my hive. We've grown up together and you guys continue to inspire and motivate me every day.

"I'm so grateful for every challenge, every smile, every tear, every discovery, every sacrifice, every triumph, every stretch mark, every kiss, every scar. I strive to make you proud. I love YOOOUUUU!!!"
