"The following day I received an email saying, 'Can you please refrain from the next parents' evening – we do not need the presence of Mr Ramsay."

The 49-year-old star did not specify where his children go to school, but it is thought likely that they are educated in LA, where he has a £4.3million home.

Gordon and his wife Tana have four children together; Megan, 18, twins Jack and Holly, 16, and 14-year-old Tilly.

Earlier this year, the couple shared the heartbreaking news that Tana had suffered a miscarriage five months into her fifth pregnancy.

He added: "I'd especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they've done. G x."
