Sarah Michelle Gellar has praised her dear friend Shannen Doherty's 'bravery' as she powered through her battle with breast cancer. "Shannen's incredible. What she's done for other women going through it is... so brave, and that's what real bravery is, is to go through the hardest part of your life and show people, it's OK to be scared," the actor and cookbook author explained. Sarah Michelle also revealed to ET how the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star has made it easier for people to be more open about their owns struggles with the disease whileassuring them that they too can win the battle.
"It's OK to be vulnerable, and you can do it," the mother of two stated. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star also applauded Shannen for continuing to do physical fitness during her battle. Sarah Michelle even joined her pal for a dance workout class in February 2017. "The fact that she gets up and goes to those dance classes? The last thing I want to do is go to these really hard dance classes, and sweat that hard and work that hard," the actress admitted, adding, "but I have to remind myself, if she's getting up there and doing it, then it's important that I do it, too."

The Cruel Intentions actress is one of the many friends who has supported Shannen since her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. To show her support, Sarah Michelle shared a sweet picture of herself and Shannen along with a touching message on Instagram. "I've always said she is one of the most loyal friends I've ever known, and now she is facing the toughest journey of her life, she is sharing it with friends she has never met in the hopes of helping other people who are going through the same struggle. That's a true friend," reads the caption.
