Strictly Come Dancing contestant Denise Van Outen has dressed up as Madonna from Desperately Seeking Susan to raise money for Red Nose Day. She wore a tight, black dress, glitzy cardigan, layers of necklaces and bright, red lipstick to complete Madonna's iconic look from decades back. "I absolutely love all things eighties and jumped at the chance to recreate my favourite Madonna photo of all time," said Denise.

"Going all out for the eighties is a brilliant way to raise money, so all those eighties fans who can't wait to get out the lace gloves and leg warmers should get sponsored for Red Nose Day while they're at it!" Denise has been pulling out all the stops to raise money and awareness for Red Nose Day and charity Comic Relief. She has been on a central London train with TV presenter Kate Thornton, carrying out funny dares sent in by members of the public via Twitter. Denise posted, "For Comic Relief ‪@k8_thornton‬ & I are doing dares today on a train. Tweet us your suggestions please. ‪@rednoseday‬."

The comedy duo set off a few hours ago, sporting Red Nose Day t-shirts and signature red noses. Suggestions have flooded in, including to pinch the train driver's bum, squeeze into the luggage rack and do the conga with other passengers. They have been uploading photos of their completed dares to Twitter and Instagram alongside posts like, "Been dared to travel in the luggage rack. Mission accomplished ‪#rednoseday‬ comic relief." In exchange for the dares, Denise and Kate hope to get people sponsoring. Singer Jessie J, who is shaving her head for charity, started the trend and has been getting other celebrities involved. She dared X Factor band Union J to eat worms and jellied eels and filmed the boys in action.

Denise, 38, is enjoying acting as a charity ambassador and recently attended a Comic Relief cocktail party at the Royal Opera House. She turned heads with her sleek black leggings and sparkly black tuxedo jacket combo, and of course a Stella McCartney-designed t-shirt for Red Nose Day.
