Newly formed McBusted made their second appearance as a band on Thursday, taking to the Daybreak sofa to discuss their plans for the future and why Charlie Simpson has chosen not to join them.

"Charlie's not quite ready to do this yet," said former Busted singer Matt Willis. "But the door is open... hopefully one day."

The band were promoting their 2014 tour, which Matt predicted would be  "carnage!", before former Striclty Come Dancing star Harry Judd insisted that they have mellowed as they got older.

"We're quite grown up and boring to be perfectly honest," said Harry. "There's kids, there's marriage, it's really not going to be that crazy."

Tom Fletcher, who recently announced that he is expecting a baby with his wife Giovanna, insisted that the group would be living off camomile tea.

Speaking about what songs fan can expect during the tour, which is already sold out, Matt said they will be "an equal ratio of Busted and McFly hits."

"Busted only had two albums so we haven't got that many to pick from!" he added.

Tom also revealed the presenters Aled Jones and Kate Garraway that he was "nearly in Busted".

"You just weren't good enough!" joked Matt.

Said Tom, "Behind-the-scenes we wrote on each other's albums and toured with each other, there was never any rivalry really."
