George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin one step closer to saying 'I do' as they post official wedding banns

George Clooney and his fiancée Amal Alamuddin are one step closer to walking down the aisle – now that they have posted their official wedding banns.The Hollywood star and British human rights lawyer paid £35 each before signing the legal notice of their intention to marry at Chelsea Town Hall in London. The document, which went up a fortnight ago, must be displayed in public for 16 days before George and Amal can marry.

According to the Daily Mirror, the legal paper includes his middle name, listing him as George Timothy Clooney.The Gravity star's profession is registered as "actor and director", while his status is listed as "previous marriage dissolved" – George was married to actress Talia Balsam, who played Mona Sterling in Mad Men.  Their four-year union ended in 1993.Amal, meanwhile, is described as a barrister, and her status is single.

The banns also confirms that the handsome duo will say "I do" in Italy. The ceremony is thought to be taking place next month at George's luxury villa by Lake Como, now that new laws have been put in place to prevent fans and paparazzi from getting too close to the property.

George and Amal had previously considered the venue, but Amal is said to have felt it was too public.  The laws, which were passed on Saturday 21 June, also prevent anyone from stopping on the lakeside of the property. Anyone found sailing or swimming within 100 meters from George's villa could be fined up to £400.

"It is now completely forbidden to stop outside the entrance to Clooney's villa," mayor of Laglio, Roberto Pozzi, told Us Weekly. "It's a question of traffic and security. It is very dangerous and it's also an issue of privacy."
