When Melanie Griffith arrived on Hollywood Boulevard recently for the presentation of a star on the legendary Walk Of Fame, the crowd would have been forgiven for thinking it was hers. But Mel was only appearing in a supporting role, as it was her mother, The Birds actress Tippi Hedren, who was being honoured. Having weathered some stormy times, the pair are said to be very close these days, despite Melanie's childhood fantasy that Marilyn Monroe was her real parent. "I told her I thought God switched me at the last minute and she got very upset," says Melanie. "I've apologised and mum understands how mixed up I was." |
