Born: December 8, 1964
The daughter of a nuclear physicist and a computer programmer mother, Teri studied acting in San Francisco while also taking a degree in maths and engineering. Going along to a Hollywood casting call to lend moral support to a friend, she ended up auditioning for, and winning, a role on Seventies series The Loveboat. Numerous TV roles followed, including a stint as Lois Lane in the 1994-1997 US TV series Lois & Clark.
But it was Desperate Housewives which boosted her onto the A-list, earning her a Golden Globe in 2005.
