Jemima immediately took on fundraising for the Shaukate Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, which Imran founded. The cancer centre, which is open to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, is the only one of its kind in Pakistan.
In 1996, the new mum launched an eponymous fashion label – with designs centred around Western styles featuring traditional Eastern embroidery – and donated all proceeds to the hospital. As for inspiration, Jemima said the creations were "a bit of both" British and Pakistani, "because that is how I feel about myself".
