Ten million pounds seems to be the magic number when it comes to hefty divorce settlements in the UK. It's the amount reportedly doled out by tycoon Sir Terence Conran to Lady Caroline in 1997, and by rock legends Phil Collins, Mick Jagger and Bryan Ferry to their respective wives: Jill (1994), Jerry (1999) and Lucy (2003).
While rock royalty's been behind several of the big-time settlements, the king of all UK divorce deals came from the real-life heir to the throne. When the Prince of Wales split from Princess Diana in 1996, the couple settled on a £17-million lump-sum payment for Diana, as well as £400,000 a year to run her private office.
