ROD STEWART
When Rod Stewart was looking for a property in England, his one requirement was that it had enough space to indulge his passion - football. The millionaire rocker settled on Epping Manor, a 195-acre estate in Essex, which includes a full-sized pitch. As well as getting celeb pals over for a kickabout Rod, who was once an apprentice with Brentford FC, has been known to invite his favourite team Celtic Rangers along for training sessions.

The Manor's exercise facilities are not the only feature estate agents might want to talk up. Formerly the country seat of 18th-century prime minister Lord Grenville, the elegant pile has a humidity-controlled garage to house Rod's fleet of cars and - rather handily for a pop star with a brood of seven children - there are also ten spacious bedrooms.
