GEORGE CLOONEY
As a free-spirited bachelor with sophisticated tastes, George Clooney wanted a hideaway which was off the beaten Tinseltown track. So a 15-bedroom pad in Italy was the perfect choice. Every summer the star lives la dolce vita in a beautiful 18th century villa called Oleandra on the shores of Lake Como, between Milan and Saint-Moritz. While the house has its own gym, George's Italian sojourns follow a gentle pace - breakfast, a cruise in his motorboat, lunch, swimming, dinner and a glass of wine, a movie and then bed.

Famously gregarious, the actor is never alone. It's not unusual to find 15 guests - friends, relatives and their children - in residence. When his buddies on heist flick Ocean's Eleven needed to unwind, the affable bachelor proved the perfect host, watching in amusement as the arrival of Matt, Julia, Brad and Jen sent the local paparazzi into a tailspin.
