|Having put in time honing her craft on TV and treading the boards on the West End, Tamzin Outhwaite has set her sights on the silver screen.
Once reported to be Britain's highest-paid soap star, she left her role as Albert Square's free-spirited barmaid Melanie in 2002, moving on to TV military drama series, Red Cap, and riding high on rave reviews for her stage work. But, up for a career challenge, Tamzin's now working hard at work carving a niche for herself in Hollywood.
The 5ft 8in actress, who hails from Essex, finally landed a Hollywood role alongside Blade actor Wesley Snipes in the action thriller Seven Seconds. Tamzin plays a NATO officer in the film, which was shot in Romania last year and will be released on DVD this June.
