The world of haute couture is often criticised for not producing "wearable" clothes, but renowned designer John Galliano would beg to differ. Dior's creative director, who has been dubbed the "wild child of British fashion", happily incorporates the highly theatrical flavour of his catwalk collections into his own day-to-day ensembles.
With his looks varying from "devilish pirate" through "heavy metal rock star" to "Dickensian street urchin", the one constant feature in his appearance are his luxuriant locks. These can be black or blonde, straight or curly, depending on his mood – and are usually complemented with a carefully sculpted moustache and goatee. The sartorial maestro, who often incorporates a generous smudge of eyeshadow into his look, is also known for his love of the Baroque, with ornate lace and silk fabrics frequently featuring in his ensembles. |
