THE MOST ATTRACTIVE MAN OF 2002
COLIN FIRTH
Out of the nearly 66,000 votes logged, British actor Colin Firth was selected as Most Attractive Man by more than one out of five readers – easily beating out such formidable competitors as Russell Crowe, David Beckham, Enrique Iglesias and Prince William.
Ever since he made a splash – literally – as wet-shirted Mr Darcy in 1995's Pride And Prejudice, Colin has become known as the world's most reluctant pinup. Forever immortalised in the novel Bridget Jones's Diary – he also starred in the film as Bridget's Mr Right – the 42-year-old still seems unaccustomed to his heart-throb status.
"It's so utterly bizarre to think of myself as a sex symbol at this age," he mused in a US interview. "I have no objection to being what you call in America a 'hottie', but it certainly isn't what I'm going for at this stage of my career"
