Just as the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Christian Bale are leading the
Welsh invasion of Hollywood, Tinseltown seems to have launched something of
a counter-attack, lensing a series of major productions amid its stunning rural landscapes. Eagle-eyed Angelina Jolie fans may have noticed that
parts of Lara Croft 2 were filmed in Alexandra Slate Quarry in Gwynedd.
And the county is no stranger to swashbuckling adventurers; both Sean
Connery and Richard Gere also having paid a visit while shooting their Arthurian
escapade First Knight.
More recently, the island of Anglesey at Wales northern tip has been getting the star treatment with Demi Moore jetting in to film her new thriller Half Light.
Meanwhile, in the south, Billie Piper and Christopher Eccleston have been busy lensing the hotly-anticipated new series of Doctor Who in Cardiff.
