Product review: Salter Arc Electronic Scale

05 FEBRUARY 2009

With the vast array of kitchen gadgets available these days, space in most kitchens is at a premium. It would be nice to have room for a traditional set of scales, but they're not very practical.

The Arc Electronic Scale is the latest in the Salter range of lightweight, compact, super-accurate scales, ideal for the home cook who wants to keep everything neatly tucked away. Ultra-slim and surprisingly light, it would fit easily into a kitchen drawer. It's also ultra sleek and ships with battery included. So many scales these days come without a battery. You get them out ready to make a perfectly weighed cake and suddenly find you have to nip the shops again just to get them going!

Another plus is that you are buying British – Salter has been making scales in the UK since 1760.

Arc Electronic Scales, £9.99 from department stores and good kitchen shops.
