Celeb chef Wolfgang Puck unveils organic Oscars night menu

American classics given upmarket twist for movie event of the year

As excitement reaches new heights ahead of Sunday's Oscars gala, film fans have been given a preview of the organic treats which will be served at the exclusive Governor's Ball which follows the ceremony.

Glitterati attendees at the lavish post-Academy Awards gala can look forward to such delights as tuna tartare in sesame miso cones and Maine lobster and caviar, prepared by renowned celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

Dotted with upmarket takes on American favourites, the mouth-watering menu features such fare as mini Kobe burgers with aged cheddar and black truffle and ricotta cheese pizza.

There will also be a sushi station for fans of the healthy Japanese cuisine, with some innovative twists like a wasabi apple mignonette dipping sauce. As usual, Wolfgang - who has been the official Academy Awards chef for the past 15 years - will be offering up a few playful Oscar-inspired dishes, such as the smoked salmon statuette-shaped starter and chocolate dessert.

"Our menu will have star-quality ingredients, each dish showcasing the essence of seasonal flavour," says the chef, who reveals all dishes are made "with locally grown, sustainable and organic ingredients".
